About Laser Nail Treatment
Advanced Laser Technology for Fungal Toenails
The Laser uses concentrated pulses of laser light that pass through the nail to target the area affected by fungal infection.
This technology offers an alternative approach for patients exploring options beyond traditional topical products or oral antifungal medications.
A Targeted Approach
Laser energy is directed through the affected nail toward the area where fungal organisms may be present.
No Oral Antifungal Medication Required for the Laser Procedure
Laser treatment is a non-drug option. Your provider can help you understand how it compares with other available treatments.
An In-Office Procedure
Treatment is performed in our office by our podiatry team, following an evaluation of your nails and individual needs.
Little to No Downtime
Patients can generally resume normal daily activities after treatment, according to their provider's instructions.
*Laser treatment does not guarantee elimination of fungal infection or permanently clear nails. Individual results vary.
Could It Be Toenail Fungus?
Toenail fungus, medically known as onychomycosis, can affect one or several toenails. It may cause changes that become more noticeable over time.
Common signs include:
-
Yellow, white, or brown discoloration
-
Thickened toenails
-
Brittle, crumbly, or uneven nail edges
-
Nails that lift away from the nail bed
-
Difficulty trimming the affected nails
These changes can have other causes, too. A professional evaluation can help determine whether a fungal infection is likely and which treatment options are appropriate.

What Happens During Your Appointment?
1. Nail Evaluation
We'll examine your toenails, discuss your concerns, and review your medical history. Because not all thick or discolored nails are fungal, additional testing may be recommended when appropriate.
2. Your Laser Treatment
If you're a suitable candidate, your provider will explain the procedure and apply the PinPointe FootLaser to the affected nails.
You may notice a warming sensation during treatment. Your provider will explain what to expect before beginning.
3. Personalized Aftercare
We'll discuss nail care, foot hygiene, and steps to help reduce the risk of reinfection. Additional treatment or follow-up may be recommended based on your condition.
4. Allow Time for Nail Growth
Your nail will not become clear immediately after treatment. As the nail grows, healthier-looking nail may gradually replace the damaged portion. Toenails grow slowly, so visible changes can take months.
Is Laser Treatment Right for You?
Laser Nail treatment may be worth discussing if you have:
-
Thick or discolored toenails
-
Nails that have become brittle or crumbly
-
Persistent nail changes despite trying topical products
-
A preference to explore non-oral treatment options
Treatment isn't appropriate for everyone, and results cannot be guaranteed. We'll evaluate your nails and help you understand the options available for your situation.
